In the spirit of finding the best cakes in the world, we’re advising you move to New York!

New York is arguably the best food city in the world. It’s certainly up there. From Magnolia bakery to Billy’s and Balthazar, you just can’t cross a street without stumbling into some kind of den of bakery goodness hedonism.

It is in this spirit that we write our one and final post on this blog. We’re taking a short pause with 52andabitcakes just now. But so many people have asked us where to find some of the best pastry, and our answer has always been New York city. This is why we live in New York. It is why we pay far too much money to live in cozy little apartments: To be around the world’s greatest food.

Thus, if you already live in New York, then there’s no need to read further. Put down the mouse, step away from the keyboard, and go directly to Magnolia for a red velvet cupcake. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

For those of you reading from afar and thinking about coming to New York, it may be worth mentioning that friends of ours recently launched a new real estate focused website called Blockhawk, which is designed to help people find real estate in New York and Brooklyn. It’s a new project, but for those looking to come to New York and be immersed in what is arguably the world’s greatest food city, we thought you might be interested in checking out the New York real estate information provided on Blockhawk. We’re advised that the site is quite new and building slowly. Today you can find some interesting information about the food and various cultural aspects of living in almost any great neighborhood in New York or Brooklyn. Eventually, we’re told you will start to see listings for apartments for rent, homes for purchase, and more.

That’s it for now. See you in New York’s fine pastry establishments soon! XX
